The Parliament of Spain, on June 1, 2020 adopted a law on a living wage for residents of the country.
Living wage – a benefit aimed at preventing the risk of poverty and social exclusion of people who live alone or integrated, and do not have basic economic resources to cover minimum, basic needs.
This assistance is set up as a subjective right to economic benefit, which is part of the protective action of social security and guarantees a minimum level of income for those in situations of economic vulnerability. The assistance aims to guarantee a real improvement in the opportunities for social and labor integration of recipients.
